The mother of a missing New Canaan mother of five has filed for emergency temporary custody of the children following their father's arrest in connection with the case.

Gloria Farber, the mother of Jennifer Farber Dulos, who has been missing since May 24, filed papers in Superior Court in Norwalk on Tuesday, June 4, requesting custody of the five children all under the age of 13, according to Tony Aiello, CBS 2NY.

The children, all of whom are under age 13, including two sets of twins, have been staying with their nanny and their 85-year-old grandmother in Farber's Fifth Avenue home under the watchful eyes of an armed guard.

The request comes the day after a hearing Monday, June 3, in which Jennifer Dulos' estranged husband, Fotis Dulos, and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, were held in custody on $500,000 bond on the charges of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence and hindering prosecution.

Court officials said Fotis Dulos does not have a bail hearing pending, which means he will likely remain in jail.

New Canaan Chief of Police Leon Krolikowski said that more charges are expected.

Dulos, 50, has not been seen since dropping off her five children at school on Friday, May 24. Her black Chevy Suburban was found abandoned on the side of Lapham Road near Waveny Park after she was reported missing.

The couple had been going through a contentious divorce for at least two years, and Jennifer Dulos has stated on several occasions that she was afraid of her husband and feared for her safety.

Fotis Dulos and Troconis were arrested after police found several bloodstains on the garage floor and on a parked vehicle in her Welles Lane home as well as “multiple areas of blood splatter.”

By tracking the movements of Dulos through his cellphone, and Hartford surveillance cameras recorded on May 24, police found items stained with the blood of Jennifer Dulos in numerous trash cans. A FedEx box was also found in a Hartford storm drain which was stuffed with altered license plates as well as the real plates belonging to her vehicle, documents said.

“Based upon the crime scene processing, investigators came to the consensus that a serious physical assault had occurred at the scene, and Jennifer Dulos was the suspected victim,” the warrants said.

Connecticut State Police are reportedly seen searching the Hartford garbage dump on Tuesday with dogs in hopes of finding the missing woman.

Earlier on Wednesday, New Canaan Police had asked residents with video surveillance of roadways to save the videos and contact the department.  Krolikowski sent out a voicemail to all residents in hopes of gaining additional information.
